Double Dog Birthday

Today was the day we celebrated the birthdays of both Pete and Moses. The date for Moses was precise, but the date for Pete was an approximation. So we made it more festive by putting them together. We remember them with love and joy. (These dog photos are not gratuitous.)

  3. Moses was a beautiful boy! Sweet Pete was a great big brother to him. That can be seen in those photos. You were blessed to have had them as they were to have you.

  5. They both had such expressive eyes. I remember Pete from the Twitter years, but didn’t know Moses except through your pictures and essays. As a previous reply noted in the last picture, you can see their spirits as they walk over the Rainbow Bridge. Moses looks at Pete as if to say, welcome home brother.

  6. Sweet baby pix. Love the head tilt, always gets me. Great last pic, looks like they’re having a walk & talk: “So, got any plans today”? 🥰

  10. What fabulous photos of these two precious ones! What happy dogs they were (and they did, after all, win one of the doggy lotteries in picking their parents)! How lovely to be able to share memories of them on this special day. Thank you for sharing them once again. There are never ever enough doggie birthdays imho.

  11. Happy birthday to them both. I know you miss them and wish I’d met them more than just virtually. I certainly have had the experience of sharing a heart with a most excellent dog.

  12. Thanks for sharing them with us for all of these years. Dogs definitely leave an imprint on the heart, even if you never knew them IRL. Best thoughts to you and your family on this day.

  13. Those eyes. Somehow, even through a computer screen, they can see into my soul. Even though she’s been gone six years I can see my Murphy’s eyes in theirs. Memories are streaming down my cheeks right now. Thank you.
