Moses chose to play by my rules, but he had his own games.

Moses was a well-trained dog, who obeyed. But he also thought for himself. I trusted him.
He loved to follow me from the woods and sneak up on me.
He loved splashing.

  1. Just the photo I needed to bring a smile a week out from my knee replacement surgery. J.F., Your photos and essays over the holidays are the best tonic! Thank you! Moses, happy memories for your Mom.

  2. I remember in one of your essays, you said your husband said “You love that dog too much.” I don’t think that could be, but it does make the loss excruciating. If you haven’t been there, you can’t understand. The memories are so bitter-sweet.

  3. Czar Czak was my Moses. An instinctive livestock guardian. But let me make the rules inside the house.

Moses lived life to the fullest! Brightest stars…. I am sad that his life was so short.
