The one in the forefront to the left is my old friend, One Foot. He was the last to roost, and spent the day with his friends. Still going strong, to my surprise and pleasure.
No, we do nothing to encourage them. They just live here. The only time I feed wild animals is during a polar vortex, when temperatures fall well below zero. It’s quite a sight to see, then!
As to the dogs, they coexist nicely with the turkeys. They are shepherds, after all. Moses used to wander among them, and he and now Eli both seem to think the turkeys are their flock.
I follow a bird photographer, Carl Bovis, on Twitter, and he had a lot of pictures of a bird called a Blue Tit (UK bird) that only had one foot. It was quite feisty, would scare off other birds, and he called it Bruiser. Until I saw that I didn’t realize a bird could do so well with only one foot.
I would love seeing them. Do you scatter feed to keep them coming back, and do the dogs chase them?

So I see two feet; is something wrong with one of the two?

My new neighbor in Michigan has a resident flock. I need to get some photos when I don’t have Tork with me mumbling at them under his breath.

We have them here and I did not know that they flew until you showed pictures of them in your trees.

I do remember him from your winter photos on Twitter. So glad to see he’s still here.

Unfortunately, the photo isn’t coming through. Sending nose kisses all the same.
