Today’s gratuitous dog photo

Eli is the only one of my dogs who has consistently watched tv. Here he’s engrossed in British Antiques Roadshow. But he particularly likes horses.

  1. :)))

I don’t have dogs for many reasons…but so wish i could…i do so love to visit them, as i did today on a walk. 2 huge beautiful happy golden’s. My fav dogs are the huge broad slobbery ones…like Newfy’s…though the slobber i could never live with!!!:)!

Just found out the golden’s human mother passed away a few months ago at age 63…..she had MS, was in very bad shape, wheel chair bound, sleeping in it too, lost a foot, terrible. very talented…..she restored and sold beautiful antique cloth and pillows she made from it. she worked at the Met restoring for a bit. Really like her husband to the degree we know him from walks…we talk mostly about dogs. walks, on occasion, his wife. But he is a Trumper as she was, and they had written articles i really did not care for..unkind to me, not embracing or caring for all of humanity to me…so we only talk when we see him on walks with his dogs.

We have parrots. I do not recommend, they should not be pets…..but relating to watching tv…….. One of then must have daily tv and also music to be happy!:). he def. has his fav. shows, knows when they are on and if they are not, he acts out!:). He also def. has preferences for music!:))) he, unf. is a feather picker…but he is a happy little one and oddly, loves and needs to cuddle in our hands!:)

below, i had the King and I on for him!:). The tv is to the left behind the fern…he is watching and he was very excited about the music.

He also loves many movies on TCM…perhaps the high pitched women’s voices, Cary Grants accent, the music?!:)). Jeopardy is one of his favs and a must see…along with my husband, oh…and Sunday Morning…he gets SOOO excited with the opening music!:))

the one below loves to be rubbed around her head and neck and puts her head entrely upside down for us to do so!:)

a bear went through the train bridge we have in our backyard that the previous owner built….

We too know what mud season is like….and how it has changed…it now comes and goes and comes and goes!:( it would probably drive me batty with dogs!

i had to give up mascara, nail polish, most hair products, etc. a long time ago, due to becoming sensitive to everything….luckily grey hair doesn’t bother me, but the thinning really does! i wear lipstick for myself. luckily one brand i tolerate….and rosacea and histamine can give me color!:)

below is me with a print of an oil portrait my brother in law did of my French sister in law.

BTW, Happy Birthday!:)) Mine is Jan. 20th…it was and often is, the coldest day of the year. i usually just want to hibernate but we managed to get out to our fav. local restauarnt…a lovely time. hope you did or will have one too!:)

    very best, Lynn

  2. In his farewell piece on Bulwark, your wonderful husband suggested we subscribe to your website/blog, so I did … yesterday. I’m so glad he did this, or I may never have discovered the delights of your various forms of writing, and I’m looking forward to spending more time with your works and the blog, and hopefully seeing Charlie from time to time on MSNBC and elsewhere.

p.s. love to see dog pics anytime!

  3. So sweet to see Eli watching TV. Reminds me of Joey. He used to watch TV. He liked horses too, but he especially liked the dogs and knew exactly where/when, in the movie or commercial, the dog(s) appeared! He would begin wagging his tail and stand up or walk to the front of the big screen to get closer. He loved the dog movies but watched Winston Churchill movie where the little dog get sneaked meat morsels from the plate to under the table and the Downton Abbey movie where the dog comes down the stairs in the morning with the owner, to breakfast where he announced the King coming for a visit? These Germans are so smart and loyal companions. I shall always miss Joey. I’m happy you have your boys! Ingrid
